THE CROSS
" What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?" Pilate asked.
They all answered, "Crucify him!"
"Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify Him!" Matthew 27: 23-23

Rome had carried out thousands of crucifixions, streets were lit by the burning bodies of those nailed to crosses along the road. This one was different, this one would change history.
The religious leaders could not accept Him.
The Roman authority could not control Him.
The cross could not deter Him.
Death could not hold Him.
The grave could not contain Him.
This Jesus who is called Christ.
There has been none like Him before or since. This place of brutal execution is the turning point in the history of God’s creation. Here everything changed. Here everything became new. Here everything that had gone before had been overwritten.
God’s justice was unleashed on His Son. Our HOPE was renewed. Our future secured. Delivered by death, sealed in blood.
